Project: Interactive Scroll-Driven Animated Header

Role: UI/UX Designer & Front-End Developer

Tech/Tools: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Motion UX Design

The Challenge

Digital publications often struggle to balance prominent branding with limited screen real estate. Traditional fixed headers remain bulky as users read, while hidden headers obscure brand identity and navigation. The goal was to create a fluid, scroll-driven header that delivers a strong visual brand presence on page load without taking away precious reading space as the user moves down the article.

My Approach

Dynamic Motion Design: Concepted and programmed custom JavaScript scroll listeners to track viewport movement and trigger smooth state changes in real time.
Hardware-Accelerated CSS: Utilized CSS3 transform, scale, and opacity properties to ensure responsive, 60fps animations across all screen sizes.
Adaptive Collapsing Header: Engineered the full-sized visual hero to condense into a compact, sticky navigation bar, keeping quick links and core typography accessible.

The Result

An intuitive, modern header animation that enhances site usability, keeps the brand continuously visible, and preserves essential reading space for users across mobile and desktop devices.
