Project: Parks Web Module

Role: UI/UX Design & Front-End Web Development

Tech/Tools: Web Design, Web Module, HTML, PHP, Javascript, UI/UX Design, Swipe Carousel, Dynamic Attribute Filtering, Multi-Photo Galleries, Touch-Optimized Layouts

The Challenge

Community members and prospective buyers needed an easy, interactive way to explore nearby parks and outdoor amenities without sifting through static tables or long, fragmented directory pages. The goal was to build a mobile-first web module that combined feature-based filtering with an engaging, image-forward browsing experience.

My Approach

Designed and developed an intuitive, responsive web module structured around fast visual discovery and flexible navigation:

  • Interactive Media Galleries: Integrated multi-photo galleries into each park card with versatile navigation controls, giving users an immersive preview of each destination alongside address links and amenity badges.
  • Dynamic Amenity Filtering: Built a multi-attribute filter system that instantly refines results based on specific park features (dog parks, kayak launches, sports courts, trail loops) with real-time result counts and custom edge-case state handling.
  • Dual-Layer Navigation: Implemented a touch-friendly horizontal swipe carousel alongside a quick-jump navigation menu, accommodating both casual mobile swiping and targeted desktop browsing.

The Result

Delivered an effortless, highly touch-responsive interactive module that streamlines local park exploration, increases engagement with community spaces, and provides an elevated user experience across both desktop and mobile devices.
